At its recent meeting the Council decided to:-
Celebrate the Annual Day of Thanksgiving for those baptised in the parish during last year – on Sunday April 26th in Belcarra Church.
Have an Appreciation Day for the Sacrament of Marriage on the weekend of September 26th/27th at both Masses.
Look at ways of developing more youth involvement in the life of the parish. Our Diocesan Youth Officer Siobhan Bradley attended the meeting and offered some very positive suggestions.
The parish has been invited to submit an article for the next issue of New Dawn (The Diocesan Magazine) about our parish website.
Do This in Memory of Me Masses this weekend in
Belcarra and Balla on Saturday and Sunday, March 7th/8th respectively
Core Group meet also.
Please see this week’s newsletter for more details.
Have you picked up your Trócaire box
from St Cronan’s or St Anne’s yet?
Click here to read more about Trócaire’s Lenten Campaign for 2015 or click here to learn how the traditional Trócaire cardboard box has gone digital. The new Trócaire box mobile app is the first charity fundraising mobile app in the Republic of Ireland and was launched this week as part of Trócaire’s annual Lenten campaign.
My Lenten Promise
Have you decided what effort you are going to make for Lent this year?
Here are some ideas that may help you decide.
Our Lenten promises should try to focus on three things:
1. Praying – maybe a little extra than you do already
2. Sacrifice – maybe giving up or taking up something that is hard to do
3. Alms-giving – maybe putting money in your Trócaire box, or helping someone who does not have as much as you have.
There are leaf templates available in both churches. Please take one and write your Lenten promise anonymously on the leaf. This leaf can then be placed in the sacred space prepared in the church for Lent.
This template is available for you to print and prepare here.
