Tribute to Ms Patricia McTigue

It is with deep regret that we share the news of the death of Ms Patricia McTigue, Principal of Balla Secondary School.

Patricia joined the teaching staff of the school in 2001. In more recent years she assumed the role of Deputy Principal and was appointed Principal in 2015.

Patricia was renowned for her energy, endeavour and vision.  Both as teacher and Principal, she was highly respected and showed great commitment to the development of the school.  She always took a very keen interest in the well-being of all students. Developing links with the local community was central to her vision.  She was a great advocate of the Catholic ethos and was instrumental in the development of the school choir which enhanced various liturgies in the parish.

She will be greatly missed by students, staff and the entire school community but most especially by her husband Brían and her young children, Brían Óg, Fionn, Ódhran and Iarlaith, her parents, sisters and brothers, extended family and friends.
